    Iedereen dacht dat-ie onzinkbaar was: de Titanic. Terwijl het schip naar de bodem zonk, bleef het orkest in de eetzaal doorspelen. Componist Gavin Bryars maakte dit gegeven tot minimal music in zijn The Sinking of the Titanic. Dit traag verglijdende stuk is hét hoogtepunt van de Britse tak van de minimal music. Verder werk van de andere Britse minimal music componist, Michael Nyman.

    Everyone thought that it was unsinkable: the Titanic. When the ship sank to the bottom of the ocean, the band in the dining room kept playing. Gavin Bryars made this fact into minimal music with his The Sinking of the Titanic. Also work by the other British minimal music composer Michael Nyman.
