Thursday Night Series
The Thursday Night series (Donderdagavondserie) is the flagship of Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ’s annual programming. Throughout the season, 30 Thursday Night concerts showcase the best ensembles from home and abroad, with each performance detailing the beauty and originality of contemporary composed music. After all, music of today takes many forms: vocal or instrumental, acoustic or electronic, with or without multimedia, harmonious or raw, muted or spectacular.
Both important Dutch and international composers present world and Dutch premieres of works at these concerts. To learn more about the musical background of each ensemble, composer and composition, you are welcome to join the free introductions (in Dutch) that precede each concert.

PROMS
Thirteen surprising and illuminating concerts, featuring premieres and performances by either Asko|Schönberg, Nieuw Ensemble or the Nederlands Blazers Ensemble.
International
Eleven concerts featuring the most exciting contemporary composers and ensembles from around the world.
Various
Six concerts touching on diverse aspects of the contemporary scene, from beautiful choral works to musical theatre.
