Queer Landing

Twee jaar geleden was Queer Landing een van de hoogtepunten van de Muziekgebouw terrasconcerten. Tijdens Pride Amsterdam krijgt dat succes een vervolg: Queer Landing belooft opnieuw een glorieuze viering van queerness te worden, met een feestelijk en eclectisch programma met performances en live muziek. Queer Landing: omdat iedereen mag zijn wie hij/zij/hen is.

Queer Landing is samengesteld door de multidisciplinaire kunstenaar Mini Maxwell van het International Queer and Migrant Film Festival in Amsterdam, dat zich inzet voor zichtbaarheid, gelijkwaardigheid en emancipatie van queer cultuur. Ook vormt hen samen met Queer is not a Manifesto een collectief. Vanaf september zijn hen werkzaam als curator voor If I Can't Dance, I Don't Want To Be Part Of Your Revolution.

Marko Ivic is pianist, performer en componist. Zijn werk schommelt tussen muziek maken en een intuïtieve behoefte om met het lichaam en beelden te werken. Onderwerpen die hem raken zijn identiteit, seksualiteit en de existentiële menselijke zoektocht naar saamhorigheid. In zijn door minimalisme en improvisatie geïnspireerde muziek gebruikt hij live elektronica en elektro-akoestische instrumenten.

Singer-songwriter Ivohé groeide op in Mérida (Venezuela) en Berlijn. Ook woonde ze een tijd in Londen. Al deze invloeden klinken door in haar sound, van Latijns-Amerikaanse ritmes en oude Venezolaanse folklore tot gruizige UK club en alternatieve hip hop. Haar muziek bevat zoetgevooisde vocalen en harmonieën en haar teksten schakelen moeiteloos tussen Engels en Spaans.

Kupalua is een multidisciplinair artiest uit Brazilië met interesse in disciplines als performancekunst, stem, compositie, muziekproductie, video én in de overlap tussen deze disciplines. Kupaluas kunst onderzoekt het krachtenspel tussen en binnen lichamen. Zo problematiseert Kupalua onze verwachtingen over vrouwelijk gedrag en onze neiging om menselijke relaties te formaliseren. Met geluiden die diep van binnen komen, zoals de baarmoederhals of uit de diepste oceaan, is Kupalua een fysieke ervaring.

N.B. Voor dit concert reserveer je via 4'33 grand café je plaats op het terras voor borrel + concert. Vanwege de opzet van het concert is het niet mogelijk te dineren op het terras. Je betaalt 10 euro p.p. voor het concert (in tegenstelling tot de overige terrasconcerten + de disclaimer in de reserveringsmodule). Dit bedrag van €10 p.p. reken je ter plekke met PIN af en is exclusief consumpties. Bij slecht weer wordt het concert verplaatst naar de Kleine Zaal.

Two years ago, Queer Landing was one of the highlights of the Muziekgebouw terrace concerts. During Pride Amsterdam, that success will be repeated: Queer Landing promises to be another glorious celebration of queerness, with a festive and eclectic programme of performances and live music. Queer Landing: because everyone is allowed to be who they are.

Marko Ivic is a pianist, physical performer and composer. His work fluctuates between music making and an intuitive need of working with the body and images. He's moved by subjects such as identity, sexuality and the quest of belonging as part of the human existential nature. His musical language is inspired by minimalism and improvisation, and its characterized by the use of live electronics and electro-acoustic set ups.

Singer-songwriter Ivohé is grew up between Mérida (Venezuela) and Berlin. She also spent time living in London. Her sound is shaped by all these influences, varying from Latin-American thythms and old Venezuelan folklore to gritty UK club and alternative hip hop sounds. Her music is filled with honey-coated vocals and harmonies, and switches effortlessly between English and Spanish. 

Kupalua is a multidisciplinary artist from in Brazil, interested in disciplines as performance art, voice, composition, musical production, video, and its crossovers. Investigating power dynamics between and within bodies, Kupalua problematizes female behavior expectations and the institutionalization of human relations. With sounds coming from the most interior places such as the cervix or from the deepest spot in the ocean, Kupalua is a physical experience.

Please note: booking this concert is done via 4'33 grand cafe by reserving a seat on the terrace for drinks + concert. Because of the setup of this concert, it is not possible to make dinner reservations. The concert costs €10 per person, to be paid by card on the terrace. This does not include any drinks. In case of poor weather the concert will be moved to the small auditiorium.
