Luca Mortellaro is een man van vele interesses. Als voormalig student cognitieve wetenschappen ontdekte de Italiaanse techno-producer muziek als een krachtig medium. Het biedt hem de mogelijkheid om abstracte concepten uit literatuur en filosofie om te zetten naar dansvloerervaringen. Zijn diverse producties komen duidelijk voort uit de creatieve omgeving gestimuleerd door zijn label Stroboscopic Artefact, dat bekend staat om zijn sterke clubtracks met experimenteel geluid.
Lucy’s nieuwste release Self-Mythology LP raakt aan verschillende scheppingsverhalen, en sprookjes, waarvan terugkerende archetypes de menselijke psyche tot op de dag van vandaag blijven vormen. De plaat heeft een uitgesproken analoog karakter dankzij de fluit en vocale improvisaties van Jon Jacobs, die ook aanwezig zal zijn bij het optreden. De live showcase in De School belooft een esoterische ervaring te worden. Lucy en Oblivious Artefacts hebben een complexe setup ontworpen zonder computers. Door transparante projectieschermen voor de DJ booth op te stellen creëren ze een intense beleving.
Cyspe
Voor en na het concert draait Cyspe. Cyspe schetst met zijn muziek diepe electronische atmosferen geinspireerd door natuur, cybernetica en architectuur. Zijn geluid bestaat uit geometrische en synthetische geluiden, veldopnames en andere organische resonanties.

The foundational myth of techno
Luca Mortellaro is a man of many interests. A former student of cognitive sciences, the Italian-born techno producer has found music to be a powerful medium, one that can convey abstract concepts he derives from literature and philosophy into dancefloor experiences. His dynamic output is also due to the creative environment fostered by his label Stroboscopic Artefacts that pairs club-ready tracks with experimental sound design.
Lucy’s upcoming release, Self-Mythology LP, is said to touch on creation stories, fairy tales and their recurring archetypes which continue to shape the human psyche today. The record has a distinct analogue feel thanks to Jon Jacobs’ improvisational vocals and flute, who will also be performing with Lucy. The live showcase at De School is conceived as an esoteric initiation: Lucy and Oblivious Artefacts have designed a complex setup with no computers; instead they will use transparent projection screens in front of the DJ station to facilitate an immersive experience.

Before and after the concert music by Cyspe. Cyspe paints electronic, deep atmospheres inspired by nature, cybernetics and architecture. Enveloping the listener in a fabric of sound that emerges out of spatial synthesized geometries, dense field recordings and organic resonance. Vibrations from the spaces in between.
