‘Een onvergetelijke ervaring’, volgens The Wire. Producer Ash Koosha bouwt meeslepende constructies met abstracte elektronische klanken.

KAFR

'The sincerity of the duo’s performance and the creative links with the natural forces around them, as instrument makers and sound scientists, result in an unforgettable experience' (The Wire over Senyawa).

'Ash Koosha rips his way through all notions of genre, identity and idiom; an exploration of music traditions twisted inside out through technology' (The Quietus).

Outstanding new avant-garde from Iran, Lebanon and Indonesia

During Amsterdam Dance Event The Rest is Noise explores the boundaries of dance music. In KAFR, producer Rabih Beaini collaborates with Indonesian duo Senyawa, who combine vocal techniques and bamboo instruments with influences from metal, hardcore and avant-garde. ‘An unforgettable experience’, according to The Wire. Producer Ash Koosha builds compelling constructions with abstract electronic sounds.

KAFR
KAFR is a new collaboration with DJ/producer Rabih Beaini (Morphosis), originally from Lebanon but nowadays located in Berlin, and the Indonesian duo Senyawa. Senyawa’s eye-catcher is Rully Shawara, who shocks and affects with penetrating vocal techniques borrowed from both Indonesian as well as Western traditions ranging from hardcore up to vocal art. His partner-in-crime is Wukir Suryadi who plays the bambuwakir. With this self-made, amplified instrument made out of bamboo and metal, Suryadi can play subtle string music as well as furious percussion.

Ash Koosha
Ash Koosha fled his hometown Teheran and now celebrates his success in London with kaleidoscopic electronic (dance) music. The young composer/producer is fascinated by the physical aspect of sound. This he emphasises in his live performances with intriguing, self-made video projections.

“The sincerity of the duo’s performance and the creative links with the natural forces around them, as instrument makers and sound scientists, result in an unforgettable experience” (The Wire about Senyawa).

“Ash Koosha rips his way through all notions of genre, identity and idiom; an exploration of music traditions twisted inside out through technology” (The Quietus).

All music before, between and after the shows will be chosen and played by DJ Clamdown.
