Alles draait om de urgente actualiteit in deze vijfkoppige band uit Brooklyn, New York, rond dichter en spoken word-artist Camae Ayewa, alias Moor Mother. Het debuutalbum van Irreversible Entanglements wordt geprezen als ‘een van de krachtigste en meest relevante kunstwerken’ van de afgelopen tijd door muziekblog The Quietus. Andere toonaangevende media waren al even enthousiast over de nieuwe band met dichter en spoken word-artist Camae Ayewa, alias Moor Mother. Na diverse experimentele en elektronische projecten laat zij zich nu horen in een krachtig, eigentijds freejazz-collectief.

Irreversible Entanglements werd opgericht in Brooklyn, New York, speciaal voor de protestbijeenkomst Musicians Against Police Brutality naar aanleiding van de dood van Akai Gurley, veroorzaakt door politiegeweld. Sindsdien draait bij Irreversible Entanglements alles om de boodschap en de actualiteit.

Following various experimental and electronic projects she can now be heard in a powerful contemporary free jazz collective.
