Les Filles de Illighadad

Na het uitverkochte zinderderende concert van Les Filles de Illighadad tijdens Minimal Music Festival 2019, komt de groep terug voor een intiem concert in de kleine zaal van Muziekgebouw. Les Filles de Illighadad maken Future Tuareg Music, muziek om in trance te raken. Met traditionele percussie en  elektrische gitaren, brengen Les Filles hun oude muziek naar het moderne tijdperk.

Puttend uit de tende-traditie, de vergeten inspiratie van Tuareg-muziek, blazen Fatou Seidi Ghali en Les Filles het genre nieuw leven in. Hypnotische gitaarriffs, stuwende ritmes en polyfoon resonerende vocalen creëren een geluid dat zowel tijdloos als hypnotisch is. Een band als geen ander, die het publiek in trance brengt, waar ze ook spelen.

After the enchanted sold-out concert by Les Filles de Illighadad during the last Minimal Music Festival 2019, the group returns for an intimate concert in the small hall of Muziekgebouw. The female led avant-rock group from the desert village of Illighadad in Niger’s Sahara play Future Tuareg music. Mixing traditional percussion with electric guitars, Les Filles brings ancient village folk music into the modern era.

Drawing on traditional tende music, the forgotten inspiration of Tuareg guitar, Fatou Seidi Ghali and Les Filles breath new life into the genre. Hypnotic guitar riffs, driving rhythm, and polyphonic resonant vocals combine to create organic sound, that is both timeless and natural. A wholly original band that puts the audience in a trance wherever they play.
