Artistic Leader (f/m/x)

About the position
To give shape to our ambitious vision, we are looking for an Artistic Leader. In this role, you will develop the artistic vision and strategy of the Muziekgebouw together with the members of the programming team. You will be responsible for implementing the artistic policy and translating it into annual plans and funding applications. You will be programming a significant part of the concerts and festivals yourself.

You will safeguard the quality and objectives of the Muziekgebouw’s programming and realize projects that attract new audiences to the Muziekgebouw, also from parts of the city that we are currently not reaching as effectively (such as Amsterdam Noord, Zuid-Oost and Nieuw-West). With your strong vision for music, you know how to connect the Muziekgebouw with the city and the international network.

About your position in the organization
In this position, as an artistic inspiration, you will be given all the space to develop the programming in line with our ambitions and artistic profile. You are accountable to the executive director. You are the chair and driving force of the programming team and in that role you are responsible for the programming and the programming budget. In consultation with the executive director, you manage the programmers. You are part of the management team of the Muziekgebouw.
