'Alors tu es vraiment heureux de me voir?' (So you’re really happy to see me?) is one of the intriguing phrases in Fidélité by Georges Aperghis, for harp and voice from the early 1980s. In this work, the harpist intertwines words, sounds and harp tones into a fascinating play of sonorities, in which an occasional clear sentence emerges. It is a journey full of tension, imagination and suggestion.

The four composers who contributed to this project of Belgian harpist Jenna Vergeynst each wrote a new composition as a musical response to Fidélité. Together with dancer/performer Myrthe Bokelmann, Vergeynst presents these five works in an intimate and captivating performance.

This performance is supperted by the Flemish Government, the City of Ghent, Sabam for Culture, and the residency venues WALPURGIS, Destelheide, LOD and WARP. With thanks to outside-eye Ferenc Balcaen and costume designers Nelly Bellegarde and Pascal Konradi.
