Dialogue between landscape and sound

The New Zealand composer Alison Isadora makes field recordings in Meinerswijk, Arnhem, during different seasons. Meinerswijk is a floodplain area with a dynamic ecosystem influenced by flooding, drought, construction work, and other factors. How is this space shared, and what does that mean for its soundscape? In Sharing Space, the Luna Quartet shows how the flow of the work shifts and seeks to find a new balance.

The Luna Quartet is a string quartet for contemporary music and 'specialists in quiet music' according to BBC radio 3. The quartet explores the extremes of new and experimental music. Luna Quartet deliberately seeks the frayed edges of new and experimental music, based on the awareness that this is where history is made. Without reserve, the four string players deploy their expertise and go far in pushing boundaries.

This concert takes place at the Plein Theatre as part of the Nieuwe Noten Amsterdam series.
