Peaceful music in modern hands

War is, sadly, of all times. But fortunately, peace also regularly raises its voice. Still, every extra plea for peace remains as crucial as ever. The world-famous RIAS Kammerchor calls its concert Molitva, a prayer for peace, after the work of the same name that Ukrainian Galina Grigorjeva wrote in 2005. Something pacifist also resonates in the other works. Religious music with an important mission.

Krista Audere, from Lavia, is one of the most sought-after choir conductors of our time. She is currently leading the RIAS Kammerchor, a choir that was founded in 1948 in the American sector of Berlin. In addition to the work by Galina Grigorjeva, the concert will also feature the Dutch premiere of a work by the Latvian composer Pēteris Vasks. Of Alfred Schnittke’s Drei geistliche Gesänge, the Otche Nash (Lord’s Prayer) in particular is of great beauty.
