De veelzijdigheid van het Fokker-orgel

This comprehensive programme pays tribute to composers with anniversaries in 2024, while also celebrating the versatility of the Fokker organ. Anton de Beer and Leo de Vries composed specifically for the 31-tone organ. But the instrument can also produce a romantic sound that goes well with Puccini, or with Bruckner’s Third Symphony.

Ere Lievonen has been resident organist of the Fokker organ since 2009. As such, Lievonen is an expert in the wondrous, gliding world of microtonality. In addition, he is also resident organist of the organ in the Utrecht Geertekerk and pianist/harpsichordist in adventurous music ensembles. Together with guitarist Melle Weijters, Lievonen presents a selection from Gustav Holst’s renowned Planets, and a one-of-a-kind version of Duke Ellington’s In a Sentimental Mood.
