St John Passion

Bach’s St John Passion is shorter than the famous St Matthew, but also more dramatic and compelling. Led by conductor Daniel Reuss, the Orchestra of the Eighteenth Century and Cappella Amsterdam plunge into the emotional heights and depths of the story of the crucifixion. ‘The Orchestra of the Eighteenth Century played beautifully, with that characteristic sweet string sound,’ wrote Het Parool back in 2022. Therefore, expect a special performance!

During Easter, Bach’s Passions engulf the Netherlands; the number of performances seems to increase every year. With the international crème de la crème of early music, this performance promises to make a lasting impression.
