Major life themes through four centuries of music

In this program Beauty Awake, Canadian mezzo-soprano Georgia Burashko sings about some of life's major themes: childhood, love, heartache and eternity. Her diverse anthology ranges from English-language songs from the Elizabethan Renaissance to the High Baroque and much later. Works by Karmit Fadael and Dolly Parton are also featured. An ensemble of two gambas and a lute accompany her on this journey through four centuries of beauty.

The jury wrote about Georgia Burashko's program: 'She has put together a beautiful and fascinating program with a good sense of drama.' That sense of drama serves her well. Georgia has since sung several opera roles and was discovered by Les Arts Florissants. In the 2023-2024 season she will go on a world tour with this ensemble with Purcell's The Fairy Queen.

Dutch Classical Talent
Dutch Classical Talent is a development program for young Dutch top musicians. Laureates include Tania Kross, Lavinia Meijer, Nora Fischer, the Van Baerle Trio and the Berlage Saxophone Quartet, to name just a few notable names. Talent alone is not enough to reach the final of Dutch Classical Talent. Participants must bring distinctive and stimulating programs, vision and a bit of courage. The Final of Dutch Classical Talent is Sunday, May 12, 2024 in TivoliVredenburg Utrecht.
