A musical and theatrical journey through the night

In 2024, the Netherlands Student Chamber Choir celebrates its 50th birthday with the mesmerizing tour Until sunrise. Conducted by Lodewijk van der Ree, the choir travels through the night with a diverse repertoire in which classical, folk, and contemporary compositions are combined.

Notable works are the Pulitzer Prize winning Allemande by Caroline Shaw and the emotionally charged Del iubilo del core che esce in voce by Robert Heppener. The program culminates in a world premiere by Laura Polence, which will be a mixture of modern elements and improvisation. Together with a director and a light designer the Netherlands Student Chamber Choir transforms the musical voyage into a compelling theatrical experience. This is a milestone for this exceptional choir, cherishing high-level amateur talent since 1974.
