Inside the head of Maurice Ravel

The year 2025 marks the 150th anniversary of Maurice Ravel’s birth. Almost everyone knows his Boléro and so much of his other music, but his private life remains mysterious. In unRAVELed, we get inside the head of this beloved composer. In a breath-taking setting of colourful plexiglass, mesmerizing mechanical music machines, and large, moving shadows, we are transported to Ravel’s youth.

Zonzo Compagnie loves to delve into the stories behind music: after performances about Berio, Bach and Purcell, among others, they are now focusing on a classical composer again. For the second time, they are doing this together with the classical ensemble Revue Blanche. In search of the child in Ravel, who, like his father, was an inventor - but one of sound and unforgettable music.
