Eight top pianists in festive and varied programme

A cherished tradition at the YPF European Piano Competition is a piano recital performed by members of the jury, known as A Tribute to Youri Egorov. No less than eight top pianists will play in this concert, including Severin von Eckardstein, Nino Gvetadze, Einav Yarden, Hannes Minnaar and artistic director Thomas Beijer. The programme of this concert promises to be an unforgettable evening for all piano lovers.

Youri Egorov, a Russian pianist who fled to our country in 1976, passed away in Amsterdam in 1988 at the age of 33 due to AIDS-related complications. He was a piano prodigy who died far too soon, and many people both here and abroad still remember him with admiration and sadness. Jan Brokken wrote the beautiful book In the House of the Poet about him. The Young Pianist Foundation manages the legacy of Egorov and honours him with this unique tribute concert.

With an ode to Youri Egorov by Robbert Dijkgraaf, former Minister of Education, Culture and Science.

This concert will be broadcast live.
