A muscial journey around the world with Ravel

Embark on a musical journey around the world with the ADAM Quartet, with a beloved classic as their compass: Maurice Ravel’s sun-kissed String Quartet. Alongside this masterpiece, discover works by three contemporary female composers, with roots in Sri Lanka, Azerbaijan, the Netherlands and the United States. The programme embodies the spirit of international collaboration and cultural exchange, according to the ADAM Quartet.

Ravel, without a doubt, must have also experienced this open-mindedness during the vibrant World’s Fair in Paris in 1900, shortly before he composed his famous quartet. Carrot Revolution by Gabriella Smith is an eclectic journey around the world in itself, and in Flight UL 505 by the Dutch Vinthya Perinpanathan, her fascination with South Indian music shines through. Franghiz Ali-Zadeh initially wrote her Dance for the adventurous Kronos Quartet.
