Guitarist and composer Agus Fulka was born in Argentina, grew up in Spain, and has been based in Amsterdam for the past few years. With his own quintet, Fulka delivers an energetic blend of jazz, flamenco, folk and electronica. During the 2025 Flamenco Biennale, he hosted lively post-concert jam sessions at the Bimhuis café. Fulka now steps into the spotlight for his own performance on the IJ terrace.
Fulka has only just graduated from the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, and already has released an album with his own distinctive signature. Aletheia is the name of Fulka’s debut album, a Greek word for ‘truth’ or, more accurately, ‘un-concealing’. Whatever truth is revealed by this quintet of young improv virtuosos is for each listener to decide. What is certain is that it swings, grates, chafes, and tickles.
Outdoor concert
This Terrace Concert is an outdoor event. The sun can be intense and the wind can be quite strong near the water, so come prepared. In the event of unfavourable weather conditions, the performance will be held indoors in the Entrance Hall, which overlooks the river IJ.
