In November 2026, the Ud Festival will once again shine the spotlight on the oud, the versatile Arabic lute. With its rich sound and countless possibilities, the oud has influenced musical traditions across the globe. Today, the instrument serves as a catalyst for experimentation among musicians from diverse cultures. During this Terrace Concert, the AAO gives us an exclusive glimpse into the upcoming November festivities.
From 5 November to 21 November, the Ud Festival returns, for its sixth edition, to various venues in the Netherlands, including the Muziekgebouw. The festival is an initiative of the Amsterdam Andalusian Orchestra (AAO). The Ud Festival’s international line-up will be announced at a later date. Young talent can participate in the Oud Competition; the final will take place on 21 November at the Muziekgebouw.
Outdoor concert
This Terrace Concert is an outdoor event. The sun can be intense and the wind can be quite strong near the water, so come prepared. In the event of unfavourable weather conditions, the performance will be held indoors in the Entrance Hall, which overlooks the river IJ.
