As part of the Sonic Acts Biennial 2026, Melted for Love, the event Expanded Experience is returning to Muziekgebouw with a six-hour journey where sound, image, and architecture merge. Transformative concerts, AV performances, and live collaborations push the boundaries of listening and seeing – exploring how sound and cinema connect us across war, migration, and ecological collapse.
Mazen Kerbaj opens with Lungless on a specially-built horns by Tarek Atoui, followed by Radigue’s Occam Océan – Occam Delta X, in which Zinc & Copper unfold a microtonal ocean journey. A Forbidden Distance by Saint Abdullah, Eomac and Rebecca explores the boundaries of intimacy through pulsing sound and image, while Robert Aiki Aubrey Lowe builds a live sonic ecosystem around the film Grasshopper Republic. Warnecke & Biederman map Latvian ecosystems; Jebanasam probes ecological awareness in mātr. Bela closes with Anton Filatov with raw, tactile guttural tones.
