Astrid Sonne

Samen met Subbacultcha nodigen we Astrid Sonne uit voor een concert in s105 (de concertruimte van Subbacultcha, Doctor Jan van Breemenstraat 1). De Deense componist, producer en altviolist brengt elektroakoestische muziek waarin ze barokke technieken, geïmproviseerde passages en samples van composities verwerkt. ‘Toetsen en strijkers, software en hardware, drones en koraalharmonieën worden vloeiend en mysterieus ingezet, waarbij ze in hun golfvormen zowel toespelingen maken op ongrijpbare verhaallijnen als deze verbergen' (Boomkat).

Haar nieuwste album outside of your lifetime kwam in september 2021 uit op het Deense label Escho, na de veelgeprezen eerdere werken Cliodynamics (2019) en Human Lines (2018) (beide ook op Escho).

Together with Subbacultcha we invite Astrid Sonne to s105 (Subbacultcha’s concert space, Doctor Jan van Breemenstraat 1). The composer, producer and viola player bathes baroque techniques, improvised passages and “precisely cut” compositions in electronic experiments. “Keys and strings, software and hardware, drones and choral harmonies are deployed with fluency and mystery, both hinting at and hiding elusive narratives within their waveforms” (Boomkat).

Her latest album 'outside of your lifetime' was released on Danish label Escho in September 2021, following critically acclaimed previous works Cliodynamics (2019) and Human Lines (2018) (both also on Escho).
