Ecko Bazz

Met zijn opruiende en acrobatische raps wint de Oegandese rapper Ecko Bazz steeds meer internationale fans voor zich. Ecko Bazz rapt over urgente, politiek gevoelige onderwerpen als geweld, religie en armoede in de Oegandese achterbuurten. In zijn hyperactieve performance vermengt hij allerlei stijlen als trap, gqom en nu-dancehall met poëzie in de Luganda-taal. 

Ecko Bazz brak vorig jaar door met zijn debuutalbum Mmaso op het label Hakuna Kulala. Nu treedt hij op met Debmaster, de Franse dj/producer achter Mmaso en andere spannende releases op Hakuna Kulala, van onder anderen MC Yallah. Voor Mmaso werkte Ecko Bazz ook samen met andere producers zoals Slikback, DJ Die Soon en Scotch Rolex. 

Salutingrome
Salutingrome begon als sfeervol solo-experiment van Zamity Mitelembe en is de afgelopen tijd getransformeerd tot een poëtisch en genre-overschrijdend live-format. Hun sterke teksten en energieke performance maakten indruk op festival Le Guess Who. Salutingrome speelteen schurende mix van noise-rock, post-punk en blues.

Mukuna
DJ Mukuna is een Zwitsers-Congolese artiest die opgroeide in Basel. Met zijn genre-overstijgende stijl van dj'en was hij al snel een belangrijke figuur in de lokale scene. In zijn jeugd volgde hij Senegalese drumlessen en sindsdien draait zijn muziek om percussie. Hij raakte verslingerd aan clubmuziek en elektronische muziek en verkende alle mogelijkheden van dit nieuwe genre. Omdat niemand het soort muziek speelde dat hij wilde horen, besloot hij het zelf te proberen.

Ecko Bazz
With his incendiary and acrobatic raps, Ecko Bazz has rapidly rose to international success. The Ugandan MC raps about urgent, politically charged subjects such as violence, religion, and the poverty of the Ugandan slums. In his hyperactive performance he mixes all kinds of styles, such as trap, gqom, and nu-dancehall, with poetry in the Luganda language.

Ecko Bazz made his breakthrough last year with his debut album Mmaso on the Hakuna Kulala label. Now he will perform with Debmaster, the French DJ/producer behind Mmaso and various other exciting Hakuna Kulala releases by the likes of MC Yallah. For Mmaso, Ecko Bazz has also collaborated with other producers such as Slikback, DJ Die Soon, and Scotch Rolex.

Salutingrome
Salutingrome started as the aperture for the evocative solo-experiments of Zamity Mitelembe, and has recently transformed towards a poetic and transgressive live-format. Their strong lyrics and energetic performance impressed at festival Le Guess Who. Salutingrome plays an abrasive mix of noise-rock, post-punk and blues. 

Mukuna
Raised in Basel, Switzerland, the swiss-Congolese artist gained a reputation as a key figure in the local scene trough his genre-bending style of DJing. Since being a kid and taking Senegalese drum lessons, the main essence of his music has been percussion. As he got into clubbing and electronic music, he quickly fell in love with it. He began exploring every corner of this newfound playground. Since nobody played and matched the kind of music he wanted to hear, he decided to give it a try himself.
