There is something irresistible about claire rousay’s intimate soundscapes. For her sound collages, rousay uses acoustic instruments, as well as everyday sounds that she records during the twilight hours. With her signature warm, crackling electronic sound, she weaves tracks that feel simultaneously alien and familiar.
Claire Rousay was born in Canada and lives and works in Los Angeles. In addition to her studio work, she has composed music for several films. On her 2024 album sentiment, Rousay took a more pop-oriented approach with ‘real’ songs. Her album a little death marks a return to her creative essence: a solo painter of soundscapes. The album forms a trilogy with a heavenly touch and a softer focus.
