Electronic bass lines, organic beats, and rich textures

Lucrecia Dalt previously performed in Bimhuis during Dekmantel Festival in 2023 just after her breakthrough  album ¡Ay!, which topped the annual best of-lists of The Wire and Pitchfork, among others. Following her work on various soundtracks, she recently released her album A Danger to Ourselves, another captivating mixture of electronic music and poetic lyrics in Spanish and English. On stage she will perform the songs together with bassist Cyrus Campbell  and her regular percussionist Alex Lázaro.

Born in Colombia, Lucrecia Dalt has carved out a distinctive space in contemporary music. Her trajectory from civil engineer to sound artist began while working at a geotechnical company in Medellín, where she discovered computer-based music production—a revelation that completely redirected her life and creative focus. As a sound artist she made name with her trilogy on the label RVNG Intl. which ended with ¡Ay!. The recent A Danger to Ourselves is her most ambitious and personal album to date, with contributions by illustrious guests such as Juana Molina and David Sylvian.

20:30 - 21:00 / Support
Band member Alex Lazaro will open the evening with a solo concert. Lazaro reimagines the drum kit as a “sculptural jungle gym: a Gaudi-esque architecture of percussion that demands full-body rotation.” An invigorating display of percussion. Lazaro’s work has appeared on Lucrecia Dalt’s latest albums, and he worked with artists as Fuensanta, Juana Aguirre, Lara Dâmaso, Camille Mandoki and Matias Aguayo.
