Baroque composers flex their muscles

Italian Baroque, hip-hop and breakdancing. There is only one ensemble that can bring these styles together convincingly. Pynarello explores both the bravado and the softer side of composers like Vivaldi, Tartini, and Locatelli, letting their notes do battle. Barbara Strozzi joins the fray, too, while breakdancer Neo Jansen proves that Baroque music can be just as macho as hip-hop.  

All of Mahler’s symphonies in a single hour, a Tchaikovsky programme that is like ‘a book you can’t put down’, music like a Big Bang oscillating between East and West; you can expect anything from Pynarello. For this collective, which performs entirely from memory and radiates infectious energy, nothing is off-limits. The result: a signature Pynarello style that connects and surprises.
