Orchestra of the Eighteenth Century

Leader in historically informed performance practice

Het Orkest van de Achttiende Eeuw (The Orchestra of the Eighteenth Century) is one of the world's leading orchestras in the field of historically informed performance practice. The musicians play in leading (chamber) music ensembles internationally and meet several times a year for performances of both iconic and lesser-known repertoire.

In the early 1980s, the orchestra gained world fame by performing great symphonic works on original instruments and in a historically informed manner. A revolution that basically never stopped.
