Workshop Indian music

Ishaan Ghosh stands out as one of the front-ranking young tabla players of India. Prior to a concert with Abhisek Lahiri and Somdatta Chatterjee at Bimhuis on Saturday 6 April, he will give a unique Indian music workshop, focusing primarily on rhythm and the techniques needed to perform the Indian rhythms. 

Participants in the workshop will play on instruments brought by themselves, which should be tuned to C# (C-sharp). Prior knowledge of Indian music (raga) is not strictly necessary, but can help in following the explanations and joining in. There are 30 places available for participants.

Participants can gather at the Muziekgebouw Box Office desk up to 5 minutes before the start, and will be guided to the studio from there. The workshop is in English.
