For the poignant stories surrounding Easter, magnificent music has been written. Naturally, several Passions will be heard, for example those of Mary Magdalene and St John, but also Armenian mourning songs and hopeful lamentations. The St Matthew Passion is, as tradition dictates, performed by the Netherlands Bach Society.
