In de vorige eeuw schreef menig componist vaderlandslievende muziek, net als in de negentiende eeuw componisten als Smetana (Ma Vlast) en Sibelius (Finlandia).
In dit programma draait alles om Heimat. Het thuisland van zes uiteenlopende componisten; Mexico, Japan, Spanje, Duitsland, de Verenigde Staten en Tsjechië.
