Dekmantel Festival 2015

Dekmantel Festival opent de derde editie dit jaar in Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ met twee unieke concerten van de elektronische pioniers Manuel Göttsching en Autechre.

Manuel Göttsching - E2-E4 (live)
In 1981 produceerde de 29-jarige Manuel Göttsching het legendarische album E2-E4: een 58 minuten durende collage van bewerkte gitaarlijnen, atmosferische synthesizers en strakke beats. Het album werd onbedoeld een succes in de underground dance scene en blijft tot op vandaag de dag een ijkpunt in de hedendaagse elektronische muziek. Gewapend met elektrische gitaar speelt Manuel Göttsching een integrale live versie van zijn album E2-E4, dat nu gezien wordt als één van de meest invloedrijke proto-house & techno-platen ooit gemaakt.

Autechre (live)
Brits elektronicaduo Autechre staat sinds het begin van de jaren '90 met ferme voet in de elektronische beatscene. Hun oeuvre beslaat meer dan twintig jaar muziekgeschiedenis, van electro, house en techno tot meer experimenteel en melodischer werk, veelal uitgebracht op het beroemde Warp-label. Complexe ritmes en korte chaotische granulaire geluidsfragmenten behoren tot het signatuurgeluid waarmee zij na 11 studio-albums hun publiek nog steeds weten te verrassen.

This year Dekmantel will be kicking off their four day Festival on Thursday July 30 at Muziekgebouw aan ‘t IJ. As Muziekgebouw we are very happy to accommodate a more experimental side of Dekmantel’s astonishing festival . The program of the opening night consists of two forward-thinking acts of  historical significance: Manuel Göttsching and Autechre.

Manuel Göttsching: E2-E4 (live)

In 1981 Manuel Göttsching created a cult classic that still resonates in contemporary electronic music. It is with great anticipation that Dekmantel presents an integral live version of ‘E2-E4’, the piece that is cited as one of the most influential proto-house/techno records ever made. For the people who are not familiar with the game-changing Göttsching: please trust us on this one and make sure you don’t miss this exclusive performance.

 Manuel Göttsching will perform from 20:00-21:00

Autechre (live)

We don’t want to talk clichés here, but a live performance from Autechre is like hearing electronic music history pass by in real time. Challenging the audience with each new record they produce, from the ambient defying Amber to the hardcore sounds from Confield, these legends are responsible for some of the most unbelievable pieces of music ever made. 

 Autechre will perform in from 22:00-23:00
