Colorful sounds and the wild parts of being human

This spring edition of Nieuwe Noten Amsterdam introduces to the special sounds of toy piano and electronic music composed for dance. Anne Veinberg plays the toy piano, as well as other objects, with compositions by Christina Viola Oorkebeek. The dance theater production Creatural examines what makes us who we are, against the background of the human psyche and the interaction between consciousness and primal instinct.

The toy piano is a small instrument that has its own unique sound and character. In Chromotoy, Oorebeek explores the colorful sounds of the 12 tones of our harmonic world. The performance Creatural follows a journey of several creatures. These creatures represent all the deep, sometimes scary, and wild parts of being a human that we don't always show to others.

This concert takes place at the Plein Theatre as part of the Nieuwe Noten Amsterdam series.
