A musical jack-of-all-trades with soloists from the Concertgebouw Orchestra

Maxim Emelyanychev is one of the Concertgebouw Orchestra’s favourite guest conductors. He is a gifted all-round musician, an outstanding pianist and multi-instrumentalist, and conducts a wide repertoire. He does so with the baroque orchestra Il Pomo d’Oro, of which he is also artistic director, and with the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, to name but a few. When Emelyanychev leads a chamber music concert, you can expect top quality paired with delightfully unexpected programming.

For the musicians of the Concertgebouw Orchestra, it is an honour to perform with such a powerhouse. On the programme are two pieces by Brahms and Poulenc, favourites from the chamber music repertoire. There is no doubt that Emelyanychev will also have a few musical surprises up his sleeve, for he is a maestro of the unexpected.
