Bach’s motets

Under the baton of chief conductor Peter Dijkstra, the Netherlands Chamber Choir will sing all six of Bach’s motets in one evening – a truly exceptional event. These works are among the most virtuosic and moving choral pieces ever composed. From the exuberant Singet dem Herrn to the profoundly soulful Komm, Jesu, komm, Bach’s motets showcase the ultimate in vocal strength and spiritual expression.  
  
Bach composed his six motets primarily for funeral services. These works combine complex polyphonic structures with expressive text-setting and are among the most challenging pieces in the choral repertoire. Conductor Peter Dijkstra is internationally renowned for his interpretations of Bach.
