A rhythmic journey through the sounds and stories of the Caribbean

Welcome to Djumbala!, a captivating theatrical concert brimming with music, movement and storytelling. Vernon Chatlein, deeply rooted in the rich Afro-Curaçaoan music tradition, joins percussionist Lidrick Solognier and flutist Angelo Ursini to take you on a rhythmic journey through the sounds and stories of the Caribbean.

Vernon uniquely blends traditional percussion with vocal rhythms. In Djumbala!, directed by Caecilia Thunnissen, Caribbean music comes to life – and everyone is invited to join in! It’s a celebration of the known and the new, a musical bridge across generations and cultures. A production that opens the heart… and the ears.
