Discover exceptional talent and magnificent music

The Florestan Piano Quartet is a dynamic young chamber ensemble emerging from the Amsterdam scene. Founded in 2023 at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, the quartet unites four musicians from different corners of Europe — Spain, Latvia, Portugal, and Italy — whose shared passion for chamber music has found a common voice in the Netherlands’ vibrant musical life.

Already making a strong impression on the international concert scene, the Florestan Piano Quartet has been awarded the Podiumprijs at the Kamermuziek Concours Gelre and has appeared at leading venues such as TivoliVredenburg and Het Concertgebouw de Vereeniging in The Netherlands, and the Festival Nei Suoni dei Luoghi in Italy. Alongside its studies with Mathieu van Bellen, and masterclasses with Lucas Hagen, the ensemble is part of the Nederlandse Strijkkwartet Academie, where it continues to refine its artistic identity.

The ensemble takes its name from Florestan, the fiery and poetic alter ego of Robert Schumann, a figure who stood for artistic freedom, imagination, and emotional truth.

Series Lunchtime concerts

The programme will be announced on this page approximately one month before the start.
