Organic blend of electronics and Sundanese ritual trance

Heith & Tarawangsawelas’ new album Duori is the result of years of collecting ideas on portable recorders, faltering hard drives and old SIM cards. It was in Bandung that Italian producer Heith and Tarawangsawelas first met. Sundanese reak rituals and long nights in jaipong clubs formed the inspiration for their layered, overwhelming and trance-inducing explorations in sound.

Bridging vast geographical and cultural distances has left its mark on Duori. The organic blend of styles is reflected in the partly Sundanese, Italian and English song titles. The name Duori itself is a playful portmanteau of ‘dentro’ (inside) and ‘fuori’ (outside), a nod to the music moving between different worlds. Duori is released by the progressive Belgian label STROOM.tv.

Opening Act
Mangruv and The Social Lover share a fascination with all things percussion, and with how sound changes depending on how you interact with it. At the Minimal Music Festival, they offered a first public glimpse into the playful, intuitive dialogue between drummer and producer. Needless to say, they’ve left us hungry for more!
