An iconic masterpiece with a new look

For over a century, the tale of a violin-playing soldier who outwits the devil has captivated audiences. Now, multidisciplinary artist Hamza Badi is bringing a new staging to this year’s edition. Badi is a contemporary artist from Morocco. His work moves between art and activism via visual media, videos and digital content that he shares on social platforms. His take on L’Histoire du Soldat is certain to also reflect his activist spirit.

Programmer Hein Wiedijk is pairing Stravinsky’s work with a piece by Dutch pianist and composer Thomas Beijer. Wiedijk commissioned it as a tribute to his favourite holiday destination: Levanto.
