A musical journey through the heart of Morocco and the Maghreb

The Amsterdam Andalusian Orchestra wraps up its 15th anniversary year with an evening that showcases the full extent of its musical versatility. Since its founding in 2011, the ensemble has built a living tradition, effortlessly merging the rich Arabo-Andalusian heritage with the music and stories from the Maghreb, the Middle East, and beyond. By breaking down cultural barriers and forging new sonic connections, they have established themselves as a creative force – a feat recently recognized with the Cultuurfonds Prize.   
 
To mark this celebratory finale, the orchestra will be joined by a leading Maghrebi-Dutch artist, whose name we are keeping a secret for now. Together, they will delve into a repertoire full of subtle nods: fresh interpretations, unexpected combinations, and music that reignites the journey from Andalusia to the Maghreb. Eschewing mere nostalgia, the AAO will demonstrate why their sound is so unique: free, multifaceted, abundant and fearlessly bold.
