Star pianist Shai Maestro is renowned for his rich tone and open improvisations and is widely regarded as a worthy successor to his role models Keith Jarrett and Chick Corea. In recent years, he has been working on The Guesthouse, a collection of intriguing songs.
With The Guesthouse, he takes a new direction, bringing together jazz, electronica and Spanish flamenco. The title refers to a poem by Rumi, in which a guesthouse symbolises openness and meaningful connections. After selling out the Bimhuis in November 2025, Maestro and his quartet are back to perform the new album live in the Muziekgebouw’s Grote Zaal.
