Master pianist performs Beethoven, Ravel and Chopin

Chopin and the young Chinese-Canadian pianist Bruce Liu will forever be intertwined. In 2021, Liu won the prestigious Chopin Competition, and last year he made his brilliant debut at the Muziekgebouw with the great Polish composer’s Second Piano Concerto. Naturally, Chopin is on the music stand today with some of his most beautiful nocturnes. But Beethoven’s two famous sonatas form the centrepiece.

Liu’s recordings for the Deutsche Grammophon label have earned universal acclaim. Gramophone Magazine described his debut album as ‘one of the most distinguished Chopin recitals of recent years, full of maturity, character and purpose.’ Liu is also a gifted virtuoso, which he will demonstrate by performing the spectacular works of Ravel and Liszt, both of which ignite a vibrant Spanish sound.
