The Rest is Noise and Knekelhuis team up to bring a night full of special live acts at the Twin Peaks afterparty, after the concert of Xiu Xiu. To the people that have been following Knekelhuis for a longer period this proceeding might not come as a surprise. This has actually been in the pipeline for quite some time and we are above the clouds to finally see it happen. The perfect setting for a 'good cup of coffee.'

Felix Kubin (live)

The music of this unique German sci-fi synth-pop explorer and sound artist spans, in its scope, the years 1916 to 2016. Active in music since his pre-teens, his music alludes to, and draws on, the spirit of Dada, expressionism, Weimar cabaret, post-war, musique concrete, the unique radio art form of Hörspiel, Kraftwerk and the great wave of early 80s Neue Deutsche Welle groups. The playfulness in his presentation is designed to confuse and entertain people.

Parrish Smith (live)
His musical journey followed his aim for self-understanding. As an introvert teenager, it was metal and rock that fuelled the chaos in his head. We all know how hard it is to be a searching soul in that most vulnerable period in our lives. Ironically, over the course of a couple of years, it was music that started to bring Parrish Smith peace. The harder and more experimental his tonal escapades became, the more serene it made him. These years gave Parrish Smith two vital points of understanding that set him apart. First, he’s not one for managing expectations, going full-on every time he plays. Secondly, he witnessed first hand that emotion makes the rhythm. As an artist, this led to the conviction that rhythms dictate the session, not the other way around.

Ron van de Kerkhof
As one of the founders of Knekelhuis, Ron van de Kerkhof is responsible for bringing disorientating high quality sounds that aim at your visceral sensations. Their website states: "The world is a wonderfully weird place, consensual reality is significantly flawed, ..." Author Tim Robbins was spot on with this quote; the world is definitely a strange place. Ron van de Kerkhof is a DJ that teaches us absurdity and estrangement is a good rather than a bad thing. The musical choices he makes in his sets are based on quality and character. And his records are multicultural wave tracks that take us on a ride through this mad world we live in.
