Bendik Giske

Schurende saxofoonmantra's die een brug slaan tussen free jazz en clubmuziek. Bendik Giske gebruikt lichamelijkheid, kwetsbaarheid en uithoudingsvermogen als instrumenten voor zijn expressie. Door de microfoons op zijn lichaam en rondom zijn saxofoon te plaatsen, creëert Bendik hypnotiserende melodieën en iets dat in de verte doet denken aan een 4x4 drumbeat. Betoverend in de ware zin van het woord.

Dazzling saxophone mantras structuring a bridge between the realms of free-form jazz and club music. Bendik Giske uses physicality, vulnerability and endurance as tools of expression. By placing the microphones just right, Bendik shrinks the listener to miniature size, causing them to be engulfed by breath, touch and the complex framework of a saxophone. Spiralling melodies and something that reminds of a 4x4 drum beat. Mesmerizing in the truest sense of the word.
