A tribute to the singing legend and her enduring influence on other stars

The Amsterdam Andalusian Orchestra celebrates the legacy of Umm Kulthum, an icon of Arab culture. The programme The voice that resonates (in Dutch: ‘De stem die doorklinkt’) connects the past with the present and shows how the legendary diva still inspires contemporary musicians. Her work continues to be reinterpreted in new and invigorating ways.

During this third and final concert of the trilogy, the AAO presents a genre-defying program featuring legendary vocalist Imane Karkibou, dancers from Zero Dance Theatre, and more!

Bob Dylan, Maria Callas, Ibrahim Maalouf, Youssou N’Dour: the list of world stars influenced by Umm Kulthum is impressive. It has yielded a great musical treasure trove that is now being opened up and added to by the Amsterdam Andalusian Orchestra, together with unexpected guests. The orchestra has been captivating new audiences with rich musical traditions for ten years.
