The Amsterdams Andalusisch Orkest, together with Lebanese singer Carla Ramia, presents a musical tribute to Warda Al-Jazairia, the legendary ‘Rose of Algeria’. Discovered in Beirut and celebrated in Egypt, Warda became a national symbol of hope and unity during the Algerian War of Independence. With her enchanting songs of love and longing, she touched generations across the Arab world and far beyond. More than a decade after her passing, her music continues to resonate everywhere: on vinyl, radio, at parties and weddings.
