From tree to violin to music

The women of the Ragazze Quartet never fail to surprise with innovative, theatrical programmes that reveal a deep engagement with what is happening in the world. Together with audiovisual artist Jurjen Alkema, and featuring music by, among others, composer Kate Moore, the quartet gives trees a musical voice. Memories of trees fill the hall in a magical world of music, light and projections, centred around the question: how do trees remember humanity and its disruptive impact on the ecosystem?

In a richly imaginative concert, the Ragazze Quartet draws you dreamlike into nature, into a Wunderkammer of pulsing sap streams, communicating fungal threads and crown shyness, with the wooden instruments themselves as interpreters.
