The female patrons behind baroque music

A magnificent baroque program by the Orchestra of the Eighteenth Century and recorder player Lucie Horsch. This concert focuses not only on the music and the men who composed it, but also on the patrons who supported these composers financially. Often, these were wealthy women. What motivated these women? What led them to connect with music in this way?

After the overwhelming success of earlier concerts and a critically acclaimed album, Lucie Horsch rejoins the Orchestra of the Eighteenth Century with a unique baroque programme. The programme features recorder concertos, orchestral works, and chamber music by Handel, Corelli, Domenico Scarlatti and the Swedish composer Johann Helmich Roman.
