A Brilliant Noise production

String quartet and spoken word for the 100th IJ-Salon concert

‘Confluence’ is the meeting point of different streams: the moment something new emerges. This programme is a partnership with A Brilliant Noise, a new production house that brings together top Dutch musicians and soloists with a refugee background. It brings the Alma Quartet (comprising members of the Concertgebouw Orchestra) together with a soloist who has recently settled in the Netherlands.

Together, they are creating a performance that blends existing and new music with spoken word. Featured is the music of Erich Wolfgang Korngold: refugee and composer. A century ago, he successfully bridged the gap between European musical traditions and Hollywood film scores.
